Astell&Kern introduces ACRO L1000 headphone amp/DAC

Upmarket portable audio player manufacturer unveils new ACRO desktop audio series

Branching out from its portable hi-res players, Astell&Kern has unveiled its new ACRO desktop audio series with the introduction of the ACRO L1000 headphone amplifier/DAC. Featuring two AK4490 chips, the ACRO L1000 can playback PCM files up to 32-bit/384kHz with no downsampling and supports native DSD up DSD256 without conversion.

Crafted in aluminium and designed to sit at a 30° angle for ease of use, it incorporates a balanced XLR jack and speaker binding posts offering a claimed maximum output of up to 15W per channel at 4ohm. Meanwhile 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs are also included. At the centre of the ACRO L1000 is a large volume wheel that is surrounded by LED lights to indicate volume level. These double up to highlight which of the L1000’s sound settings are being utilised: blue for the neutral default setting, green for when the Bass-Boost Filter is applied and red for when High Gain mode is on. ACRO L1000 is available to buy now for £799 and you can find out more about it here.
